ANNE bO - BEHIND THE SCREEN

The starting point of this new adventure ? My husband who offers me my first sewing machine some 15 years ago. A seemingly simple gift but it triggered in me a real passion for sewing. Nothing too surprising knowing that both my grand-mother and mother loved sewing as well.

Like many of us, I started with DIYs for beginners. Later, when expecting our first child, I worked on children clothes and accessories.

I quickly moved on to women’s clothing and the customization of my own wardrobe became a real pleasure.

I moved to Manila in the Philippines in 2015 and that is where I decided to take this passion a step further : at that time digital pdf patterns were not easily available and having paper patterns delivered in Manila was complicated. I still had that urge to create and so I decided to attend pattern design courses at the SoFA Design Institue of Manila. The idea of selling my patterns started making its way.

And so I decided to launch Anne bO.

Why Anne bO ? You probably guessed already ; Anne is my first name and bo are the two first letters of my maiden name. I liked the visual impression of these two letters side by side, and it also helps that “bo” in French is pronounced the same as “beau”, a word that means nice or beautiful !

On this website you will find feminine, timeless patterns with a touch of that unmistakable French style. Pieces that will complement your existing basics like your trench or your favorite tee shirt.

Patterns only in pdf format that you can download from anywhere in the world. Each pattern comes with a comprehensive illustrated guide. It will help you at each step of your project : I included personal tips but also all the techniques you will need.
